Regional Security Manager - Role description
Purpose of the function:
Leading all Corporate Security activities and initiatives within the Region EMEA, with the focus on protecting the organization, its employees, infrastructure and assets, as well as the interests of its shareholders and customers. Ensuring compliance with business security requirements and tasks, while fulfilling the company’s legal obligations.
Developing a security strategy for the Region, and implementing all relevant measures set out by the relevant Corporate Security Directives.
Being continuously available and prepared to respond 24/7 to unforeseen and/or critical incidents and instances of crime or fraud to prevent harm to life and limb of personnel, to assets and to protect the company’s reputation.
Tasks and responsibilities:
General
- Be counsel to Senior Executives within the Region and its Zones, but also on Country level and first point of contact for all security and crisis related issues within the Region.
- Direct the operational and functional security activities within the Region
- Engage with business and functional leaders in the Region and enable business from a security perspective, to increase the overall business resilience of the company
- Be representative and subject matter expert for Corporate Security in the Region, with decision making authority across the entire Region’s security programme.
- Ensure that security threats to company personnel, assets and business operations/activities within the Region are properly identified, evaluated and countered in a timely and cost- effective manner.
- Coordinate, implement, and control the required Corporate Security measures within the Region in accordance with Corporate Security governance and directives.
- Be direct communication partner with the Region’s Country Security Contacts and Crisis Management Coordinators, strengthen and build up the security community in the Region.
- Further develop the existing external security network, to include (but not limited to): Country-level security and law enforcement organizations and other authorities, Siemens AG/Siemens Energy security representatives, security service providers (e.g. ISOS), embassies.
Travel Security:
- Support the Head of Region by ensuring the implementation of security measures and conditions of travel as defined by Corporate Security.
- When necessary, ensure the security awareness of travellers in the Region and arrange adequate security measures for business travelers to high and extreme risk countries within the Region.
Crisis Management:
- Key role in crisis management structure within the Region and its Zones and leading its upkeep within the Region to ensure response and mitigation capability
- Incident Management:
- Ensure that incidents are reported on a continuous basis and that corrective actions are implemented where necessary.
- Evaluate incidents from a Corporate Security perspective and decide if further investigation is required.
Protection of Properties:
Support business users and operators of locations (e.g. Real Estate) in respect of property protection and security evaluations that need to be conducted on all new construction, remodeling and acquisitions or as required by changes in environmental conditions.
Event protection:
Following the established event security framework, enhance planning and draft security concepts for high-level events in the Region.
Investigations:
Close collaboration with Investigations within Corporate Security at Headquarters. In critical cases, conduct relevant investigations in the Region with internal stakeholders. Coordination of involvement of relevant external partners.
Situation and Threat Analysis:
Collaborate closely with Risk Intelligence within Corporate Security at Headquarters, specifically by providing feedback regarding regional developments with security relevance.
Awareness:
- Raise management and staff awareness on Corporate Security topics.
- Ensure close cooperation with other relevant and security related functions within the country (e.g. Cyber Security, Information Security Organization, Compliance Organization, Data Protection Organization and EHS Organization).
Additional
- Preparedness to travel within the Region, also on short notice.
- Drive due diligence reviews for outsourced security services.
- Develop, adjust and oversee regional budget.
Education and Experience
- 10 or more years of experience in corporate security and/ or with law enforcement
- Strong and solid network with authorities and institutions in the geographical area
- Preferred: Previous international deployment
- Preferred: University/ College Degree (or equivalent) in related field
- Preferred: Certification: CPP or equivalent
- Languages: English (native or fluent); Arabic or French a plus
- Solid Microsoft Office/365 skills

- Capable of working under pressure
- Strong communicator with a firm belief in Corporate Security as a service which enhances and drives the company’s resilience
