Welcome to Train IT!

Have you ever travelled on a high speed train like the German ICE or the Prague metro, wondering how sometimes your Smartphone has internet connection and sometimes not? How the screens in the train show next stops?

Modern trains are full of information technology - IP based networks, modern protocols like video streaming, voice applications and many others. This software is built with modern engineering tools, object oriented, and based on the Linux open source software stack.

We are Siemens Train IT team and we are developing a new IT platform for modern trains. Join us and help us create rail vehicles of tomorrow!

You would be working on projects for German customers, like New S-Bahn Berlin and Rhein-Ruhr-Express (RRX). Your role would be in Continuous Integration and Delivery team, making sure the Software build process happens according to defined criteria.

Your challenge

· Setup, configuration and maintenance of Jenkins jobs and nodes
· Configuration and Maintenance of Virtual Machines
· Creation and maintenance of support scripts in various environments
· Support and improve existing processes for continuous integration and delivery
· Troubleshoot compile and build failures, facilitate resolution
· Support train software development cycle

Your qualification

· Continuous Integration experience (Jenkins, GitLab, Travis, Circle or similar)
· Powershell and/or Bash experience
· NAnt (Ant) or similar (Maven, Gradle, etc.)
· Basic Python knowledge, no need to be an expert, we can teach you everything
· Virtualization experience
· SVN or similar (ClearCase, Git, etc.)
· English is a must, German is a big plus
