With new CoC of Electrical Vehicle charging setup in China, the Business Unit Siemens Low Voltage & Products has setup a dedicated global R&D team to develop EV charging portfolio, the component engineer will be responsible for the technical qualification to the components both mechanical and electronic to meet the design requirement.

What are my responsibilities?

· Working in conjunction with the design team, the component engineer will support the design process by technically qualifying components that meet the design intent of the schematics, drawings, and assemblies of all applicable EV charging products
· The component engineer will be the direct interface with global procurement and central quality teams.The component engineer will help to incorporate applicable procurement and central quality specifications into the design documentation of the applicable electrical and mechanical documentation
· The component engineer will be a critical resource for value engineering concepts as they will be responsible for the identification of specification items that can enable additional vendors (also known as alternative vendor lists on electronic bill of materials)
· The component engineer will specifically be responsible for high value 3rd party purchased components, their qualification, and ensuring a robust supplier base capable of addressing the business needs
· In the event of quality holds, production holds, or vendor shortages, the component engineer will be a key resource to quickly identify viable alternative technologies and assist procurement staff in the approval of vendors

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· Understanding of manufacturing mechanical and electrical systems within EVSE or related fields.
· With the experience in reading schematics for circuit designs and be able to use industry standard electronic testing equipment.
· Strong organization, communication, coordination, judgment and decision-making ability
· Bachelor degree at least in electrical Engineering or equivalent
