Commercial Project Manager

Responsiblefor the completion of all commercial/financial related matters of the customerprojects (category C). Furthermore, supporting the respective Project Manager/Bid Manager in all other areas with the objective of preparing the bid/ executingthe project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards,customer requirements and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG).A professional collaboration between the CPM and the Project Manager/ BidManager is key for the overall project success.

Areas ofResponsibility:

Empowerment

  • Drives ownempowerment with adequate signature authorization and project target agreementto manage the project.
  • Supports thePM/Bid Manager in managing and optimizing targeted financial results with dueprofessional care (e.g., project gross profit, cash flow, assets, and financinginstruments)

Managethe project throughout the project Life Cycle

  • Activelymanages all relevant commercial and financial topics in sales and/or executionphase - Ensures an adequate handover phase, analyzes customer’s requirements,examines their commercial and contractual feasibility and transferability.
  • Directs andagrees with involved team members (onshore, offshore, site, etc.) on allcommercial topics - Ensures correct methodology for evaluation of risks andopportunities as defined, e.g., in FRG, PM guide.
  • Supports thePM/ Bid Manager in identifying, evaluating, assessing risks &opportunities, strategies, and response activities.
  • Implementsapplicable tax and delegation concept and ensures synchronization of contractstructure therewith.
  • Regularlyperforms lessons learned activities on commercial aspects and feeds resultsinto own project lessons learned activities and into own organization.

Managecustomer requirements.

  • Activelygathers information on customer, strategies, requirements, and targetsregarding commercial aspects.
  • Commits tostrategic decisions with the PM/Bid Manager in alignment with business strategyfor own project.
  • Ensures theaccuracy of cost and pricing calculation as well as overall project books andrecords, incl. recording of such in appropriate ERP systems.
  • Preparescommercial documentation for regular project status/bid meetings and ensuresthe accuracy of the commercial project data (i.e., FC, MIKA, cash flow)
  • Ensurescompliance with Siemens FRG and local GAAP requirements.
  • Supports newproject team members regarding commercial aspects Manage stakeholders.
  • Cooperatesclosely with line managers and experts, stakeholders’ executive, and experts.
  • Supports PMto select and involve partners/subcontractors based on strategic viewpoints and
  • Managespreparation of bid documents in line with approval and submission thereof tocustomer
  • Negotiatescontracts/claim/change order about commercial aspects.
  • Supports theContract Manager by summarizing the critical and legal elements and the PM/BidManager by ensuring that the critical and legal elements are duly considered inpartner/subcontractor contracts/respective contract amendments.
  • Identifies,assesses, responds, monitors, reports, escalates all commercial risks, e.g.,calculation, tax, insurances, currency - Ensures correct methodology forevaluation of risk and opportunities as defined, e.g., in FRG, PM guide.
  • Ensuresconformance of risk and opportunity reporting according internal and externalstandards (e.g., IFRS, FRG, PM guide)
  • Supports thePM/Bid Manager in identifying, evaluating, assessing risks & opportunities,strategies, and response activities.

Your Qualifications – Solid and Appropriate

  • Managing projects:
  • Experience as CPM with full commercial responsibility forproject results in cross-organizational projects (1 year of commerciallymanaging external or internal (Intercompany Business) projects (≥1 execution or≥ 2 bids)
  • Management of international projects/teams (recommended)
  • Ability to create structures.
  • Planning, reporting and continuous calculation in projectbusiness.
  • Contract, change, claim management.
  • Project negotiations
  • Willingness to balance risks and to experience unpredictablesituations 
  • Perseverant yet open-minded, energetic, creative.
