We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Building Management Systems (BMS) Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure Building Automation team based in Auckland. We are ideally looking for an experienced BMS engineer with a background and experience in delivering building automation projects.
As a BMS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and completion of building controls system projects. You will be required to work closely with project managers, customers and contractors, developing rapport and a good understanding of a building's performance and control requirements. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work across a number of sectors including airports, commercial buildings, healthcare, and justice facilities.
Your daily tasks and responsibilities may include:
• Customer interaction and management including technical consulting
• Solution engineering, design, and technical support
• Site functional and acceptance testing
• Produce wiring diagrams, functional descriptions, schedules, and software in line with Siemens engineering standards
• Receive project specifications from the sales team and design building management systems
• Choose appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solutions
• May participate in site walk throughs with contractors and/or end clients
• Independently design building automation systems for standard and/or critical infrastructure facilities
• Design building automation systems for medium/large and/or complex buildings consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans and functional description documents
• Generates DDC point database on all projects
• Oversee the creation of system graphics
About you
• Bachelor's Degree - Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Sciences, or Data Sciences (preferred, but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Understanding of IT Communication Systems & Networking Topologies, their configurations & deployments
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Building Management Systems industry
• Strong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations required
• Proficiency in programming, job start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting
