We have an opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Engineer to join our Managed Equipment Services (MES) team based at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) in Perth, reporting to the Biomedical Engineering Team Leader.
This position will include planned and reactive maintenance of medical equipment, with a focus on ICT. You are required to ensure compliance to MES contractual obligations and specifications and need to demonstrate the core values of Siemens Healthineers.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
· Effectively satisfying the customer's needs for medical equipment:
· preventative maintenance,
· updates/upgrades,
· corrective/reactive service,
· installations,
· and/or workshop repairs in accordance with Managed Equipment Service contractual obligations
· Liaising with Clinical staff, the Facility Manager and Vendors to ensure that Siemens MES service meets or exceeds expectations
· Identifying areas of improvement within clinical workflows and provide information to assist in the provision of consultancy services to stakeholders
· Timely completion of service reporting in-line with contractually defined limits, and the ability to communicate these outcomes with key stakeholders
· Act as a departmental member responsible for the maintenance/calibration of General Purpose and Specialist Test Equipment within the Dept ensuring timely equipment availability and compliance to NATA or appropriate applicable standards
· Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, site specific policies, service escalation procedures and customer requests, while passing any complaints and comments to the relevant personnel for action
· To maintain personal knowledge of safety instructions and operational procedures and participate in training courses including 'self learning', computer-based and on-the-job training, and external training courses as required throughout the course of normal employment
· To ensure that all tools and test equipment issued to you as a job holder are properly maintained and calibrated, and all company assets are kept safe and secure at all times. Inspect and check issued safety equipment on a monthly basis
The successful candidate will:
· Hold a Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent
· Have experience within a hospital environment, together with proven experience in customer service maintenance and/or installation activities
· Preferably have experience in medical systems IT integration and applications, and IT network skills will be highly regarded
· Need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and be equally effective in both supervised and unsupervised duties
· Possess a driver’s license
· Be available for rostered “on-call” participation that may require out of hours work
