  • This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Biochemist I, you will be responsible for: 

           supporting calibrator products used on various chemistry assay platforms.   This role also leads design change projects, new product development projects, supports manufacturing changes, investigating customer complaints, and leading productivity initiatives.   Work with cross functions to resolve production issues including raw materials, formulations, QC testing and product release.  Provides guidance to technicians, lead troubleshooting during production of commercial C & V products.  Investigates escalated manufacturing issues, customer complaints and implements appropriate corrective and preventative actions.  Coordinates and performs data analysis and writes internal reports and documentation.  Coordinates and performs material and process validations following written protocols, prepares validation and/or test results reports.  Creates and revises work instructions for existing or new products.    Leads design and process change projects to improve manufacturability and productivity.  Participates in design transfer activities for new and revised products.

  • Experience with calibrator production, testing or trouble shooting
  • Good communication and people skills, attention to detail, a strong work ethic and excellent writing skills
  • Good understanding and knowledge of calibrators and their use in clinical chemistry assays
  • Experience with Atellica, Dimension, Vista, or ADVIA chemistry platforms
  • Experience with automated immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA, chemiluminescent technology, Western Blot, SDS-PAGE, as well as, Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in leading a project or design change is a plus
  • Statistical analysis knowledge, understanding lean production system and 6 Sigma.  Using Minitab is a plus 


A team player, be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs, must be a quick learner.  Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, or related disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of successful experience in related field. 
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) may be substituted for experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical knowledge required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as a project lead as well as independently.
  • A team player with demonstrated ability to switch priorities to meet business needs 
  • Must have hands-on laboratory experiences, and willing to perform laboratory experiments to execute to plans
