Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a multifaceted and motivated intern to join us now for a period of 5/6 months , on a part time basis, anywhere within the UK or EU.

We are looking for an intern in the field of battery pack simulations. This internship will be part of the CCM Product Management organization, which works closely with Product Development, Sales, Customer Support, and Marketing to make Simcenter STAR-CCM+ the leading CFD-focused multiphysics solution in the Industry.
By the end of this internship, you will be able to build a complete battery pack in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to assess the various configuration options and assess cooling strategies by running electro-thermal simulations.
Key responsibilities and essential functions:
· Create effective technical assets
· Report any bugs, issues, or enhancement using the internal reporting system
· Communicate and collaborate with internal partner/s on a regular basis
· Execute pre-defined metrics by successfully driving technically sophisticated, challenging and strategic engagement/s
· Create and contribute to maintain and distribute technical material.
· Take part in weekly product status meetings to update stakeholders on progress
· Collaborate with Industry Managers and applications specialist to identify and assess the scope of engagement
Required knowledge, skills, or expertise
· Currently enrolled at a university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD in Mechanical engineering (or related engineering field). Preferably a Bachelor of Science with Fluids and computer programming knowledge.
· Knowledge of battery technology.
· Hands-on experience with commercial CAD software.
· Understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics .
· Basic computer programming
· Self-motivating, ability to work independently as well as in a team.
· Ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively
· Good coordination and communications skills
Preferred knowledge, skills, or expertise
· Basic knowledge of Simcenter STAR-CCM+, BSM
· Experimental knowledge of batteries and battery packs
· Exposure to JAVA, Python and C++
