  • This position is a part of the Atlas Graduate Program. Through this program, you will receive 12 months of technical and non-technical training, mentorship from Siemens EDA executives and world-class engineers, and learn what it is like to work as part of a company that is solving software challenges in electronic design automation.

Our software tools span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design & manufacturing solutions, cable harness design tools, and embedded software.


  • Siemens is looking for a software development engineer to work in the Mentor Emulation Division (MED). MED develops and manufactures custom super computers called emulators for functional verification of System-on-Chip circuit designs. In emulation systems, custom software compiles a circuit design's high level description into a low level binary representation that can be loaded and run on the emulator hardware. The individual that fills this position will become a member of the emulator compiler specialists developing the compiler software for Mentor's next generation emulators.


  • Responsibilities:

  • The Software Development Engineer will have responsibilities in the development and improvement of the part of the compiler that analyzes the customer design in order to map it on the emulator resources. The individual will participate in the design and implementation of new functionality for this part of the compiler as well as support current functionality. The candidate will work on high-level algorithm design, as well as on the “ones and zeroes” of the programmable emulator hardware. The work will be mostly in C++ on Linux. This position will include interaction with other software teams as well as MED hardware teams in an international, multi-site, development environment.


  • Required Skills:

  • • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • • Basic knowledge of C++ and/or Python programming languages.

  • • Basic knowledge of algorithm and data structure design.

  • • Basic understanding of gate level digital logic design.

  • • Excel both in a team-oriented development and working independently.


  • Desired Skills:

  • • Software engineering skills using Unix/Linux operating systems.

  • • Basic knowledge of EDA Hardware description languages (Verilog/Vhdl).

  • • Experience in the use of EDA software simulation tools (Modelsim, etc).


  • The salary range for this position is $30.96/hr to $55.72/hr and this role is eligible to earn another 3% in variable pay. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
