Siemens EDA is the longest standing Electronic Design Automation company in the world and over the last 30 years has amassed the finest technology portfolio in the business. Our software tools span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design & manufacturing solutions, cable harness design tools, and embedded software.
This position is a part of the Atlas Graduate Program. Through this program, you will receive 12 months of technical and non-technical training, mentorship from Siemens EDA executives and world-class engineers, and learn what it is like to work as part of a company that is solving software challenges in the area of electronic design automation.
Siemens EDA has an opportunity for a Software Engineer to be part of the Design For Manufacturing (DFM) Group for their flagship Calibre product. The group works on multiple sub-products used during the physical verification phase of IC manufacturing. Development includes implementing new features based on customers' requests and exploring new algorithms to improve memory usage and runtime.
Responsibilities:
Development will be done on a Linux platform. Developing those features includes discussing requirements, writing specifications, designing and planning, writing code, and thoroughly testing.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of C++ and/or Python programming languages.
• Basic knowledge of algorithm and data structure design.
• Strong analysis, design and problem-solving skills, along with object-oriented programming experience.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Software engineering skills using Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with IC layout software from Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor.
• Familiarity with design patterns.
