We at Siemens DISW develop sophisticated software tools that span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions, including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design and manufacturing solutions, cable harness tools, and embedded software.

As an Associate Application Engineer, you will be involved in a structured AE Training Program. This is a fast-track paid training program that challenges you to develop the expertise needed to tackle difficult technical problems.

Associate Application Engineers are members of a team of highly motivated individuals working with customers crafting the most sophisticated hardware and software systems in the world and whose applications span the electronics industry. This training program will give you outstanding insight into our technical marketing, product support, and sales organizations. Upon successful completion of this 12-month training program, you will be eligible to advance into one of these organizations. Post-program opportunities include Field Application Engineer, Corporate Applications Engineer, and Technical Marketing Engineer positions.

Associate positions require excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; self-motivation and results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Some travel may be required. Applicants must be willing and able to relocate anywhere within the USA upon completion of training.

Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineer or Computer Science.
  • Excellent programming skills: C/C++, Tcl/TK, PERL.
  • Understanding of object-oriented concepts as applied to a Verification Environment.
  • Experience with HDL-based, register-transfer-level (RTL), digital logic design, verification languages, and functional verification methodology, for ASICs and/or FPGAs - Testbench architecture, design and implementation using UVM/OVM/AVM verification methodology, VHDL and/or Verilog HDL simulation, SystemVerilog and Assertion-Based Verification techniques.
  • Familiar with UNIX, Linux, Sun Solaris.
  • Familiar with analog and RF circuit design and verification with SPICE simulators.
  • Experience designing and characterizing circuits such as PLLs, ADC/DAC, high-speed I/Os, RFICs, and PMICs.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with design, simulation, verification of ASIC/VLSI circuits and systems, design verification and product test generation.
  • Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) structures. This includes scan-based testing, Memory BIST, Logic BIST, and Boundary Scan (1149.1).
  • Knowledge of scan data compression methodologies
  • Familiarity with Tessent DFT Software (TestKompress, FastScan, MemoryBIST, Diagnosis)
  • Familiarity with ISO26262 standard.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share your knowledge with others.
