Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues at in our Manufacturing Facility.
In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager-Assembly to ensure that product quality within the manufacturing process meets all agreed customer requirements specifications and drawings. Driving the quality inspection team to undertake all relevant inspections and raise NCRs where required.
The role will be based in Goole with the expectation to be onsite 5 days per week. You may have to Travel to Vienna.
You will make an impact:
- As an experienced people manager, you will lead a growing team which includes Quality Assurance Inspectors for the site.
- Assessing the Quality issues and impacts on cost and delivery, this role will oversee the Quality Management processes on the shop floor, working with the assembly team to improve the Quality of installations, Coordinate the Inspectors, oversee creation of the inspection plans, and coordinate the inspections, drive 8D and root cause analysis, oversee the creation of the car history book.
- Being the main contact for the Project Manager Manufacturing and Quality Manager in Project. This role will interface with the Customer and other key stakeholders.
- Being a key member of the Rapid Response Team, working alongside the Manufacturing teams to investigate issues and help rectify them as soon as possible.
- At times you may be required to deputise for the Head of Quality and therefore have experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Quality Management at a mid-management level.
You will demonstrate:
- Expert level of Quality Knowledge and understanding of Quality methods.
- Previous Experience in Managing Quality Inspections, ITP’s.
- Experience in a manufacturing organisation.
- Root Cause Analysis qualification.
- Experience with customers in an international product business.
- An experienced people manager.
It would be beneficial to have:
- Experience of using SAP.
- Experience of Quality Systems.
- Lead or Internal Audit Certification.
- Project experience.
