The Challenge-

Materials Solutions is a growing materials technology business, they are acknowledged world leaders in the industrial application of laser additive layer manufacturing of metals. They work with blue-chip international clients from the power generation, aerospace and motor sport sectors, who wish to utilise this cutting-edge manufacturing technology.

We are nowrecruiting for anEngineeringInspector Advanced Apprentice to be based in Worcester. This opportunity represents a new growth period for Materials Solutions and offers excellent opportunities to be part of our apprenticeship programme.

Full training will be provided for the Apprentice Inspector role for which responsibilities include:

· Interim and final inspection of complex 3D printed parts using a wide spectrum of tools from basic hand tools such as callipers and gauges through to a CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and GOM Structured light 3D scanner
· Calibration of equipment
· Liaising with engineers and working together with other inspectors to meet tight deadlines
· Completing inspection reports
· Interpreting drawings and planning inspection based on them

The core requirement for the role is the ability to work in a methodical manner, with acute attention to detail, according to defined procedures. Other requirements are:

· Enthusiastic about Engineering and Technology
· Effective team worker with a strong work ethic
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Deadline focussed
· IT literate
· Educational qualifications: A levels or equivalent

The Candidate-

· GCSE’S grade C or above in Maths, English, Science are required and an Engineering based subject is desirable
· An interest in practical engineering aligned to a problem-solving attitude, knowledge of basic machine tools and workshop skills is desirable:
· Bench skills
· Milling
· Turning
· Are flexible, know how to connect with others and pride yourself on bringing positive ideas to the team
· Enjoy jumping in and, with the support from us, feel comfortable taking responsibility for tasks
· Want to succeed, aspire to excellence and think outside the box
· Attention to detail; ability to work to defined procedures and accurately record results
· Computer literate
· Qualifications Apprentice will Gain
· NVQ Level 2 & 3,
· Engineering Inspector qualification
