Job Description:

Position Overview

As an Applications Product Engineer, you will be responsible for designing reciprocating compressors used within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries.You will be a part of a larger project team responsible for defining contract scope requirements and creating necessary equipment layouts and assembly drawings required to manufacture reciprocating compressors to be used in the upstream, midstream, and downstream energy markets.

Responsibilities

· 
Define product design requirements in accordance with contractual and industry guidelines

·  Lead medium to large engineering projects and design reviews for complex mechanical systems to ensure equipment reliability while managing cost and operational effectiveness
·  Develop and / or check engineering prints and bills of material for project manufacturing readiness
·  Creates solid model assemblies using NX for conceptual review and ANSI analysis in support of new product development cycles
·  Able to serve as a technical expert when meeting with clients and vendors
·  Is responsible for coaching and developing other employees by establishing best practices which incorporate equipment reliability, design efficiencies, and product cost-out improvements

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Undergraduate Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
·  1 year related experience in compressor design and manufacturing
·  Knowledge of 3D modeling design software
·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams
·  Must be able to work in a teamenvironment

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  3 years of experience in a compressor engineering role or similar engineering discipline
·  Ability to project manage, and prior experience in managing complex High Speed Reciprocating Compressor engineering contracts
·  Insight, interest and working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, and familiarity of reciprocating compressors within this industry
·  Working knowledge of an Oracle MRP systems, NX, and TeamCenter engineering tools
