Duties: Provide technical customer service to assigned accounts for all technical issues related to Simcenter FloEFD and Flotherm software by applying engineering practices and principles for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to design problems, primarily in the electronics industry. Assist customers in evaluating mechanical designs for performance. Interpret and analyze customer technical drawings, schematics and simulation models. Investigate simulation and software failures and recommend remedial actions. Develop and test methods to assess feasibility of new simulation processes and applications. Collaborate with product management and industry teams to provide input on future product direction by writing performance requirements and documenting failures for development. Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, operation and performance of CFD software on client design problems. Communicate the release of new software features to customers and make associated recommendations for changes to simulation processes. Work with sales team to solicit new business. Oversee installation of software for new and existing customers. Conduct product training on introductory and advanced topics. Document best practice and research findings as technical articles for the customer service portal website. Lead trainings on how to use Simcenter Flotherm to perform fluid mechanics and heat transfer simulations on electronics equipment. Use technical expertise to develop “knowledge articles” relating to the usage of corporate software, to be published on a company owned/operated website used by existing customers. Provide technical instructions and guidance to execute particular classes of simulations or to solve a particular type of problem.
Requirements: The employer will accept a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a Mechanical Engineer - related occupation. The position requires experience in the following: Utilizing theories of physics of fluid flows and heat transfer associated with the thermal analysis of electronics packages; Working with computational fluid dynamics software packages; Utilizing electronics design and analysis tools and methods; Working with databases including data entry, records management, maintenance, and reporting; Utilizing commercial computer aided design packages for interpretation of customer technical drawings; Working with geometry discretization and meshing software; Technical writing of engineering information; Leading training courses. 20% domestic travel is required. 100% telecommuting is permitted.
