Senior Pricing Analyst, Life & Health

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst, Life & Health for the Hong Kong business. You will contribute to the SGL Hong Kong team with a specific focus on the following aspects:

·  Ability to translate pricing best practice into practical solutions that enhance deal profitability;
·  Provide pricing supports to help achieve business growth objectives;
·  Engage in pricing related R&D, and new product development initiatives;
·  Ability to formulate local pricing guideline & contribution to discussion with regional pricing team;
·  Ability to oversee the end-to-end process from quotation to in-force management, and provide pricing support to internal stakeholders;
·  Be part of a dynamic and fast growing team to build SCOR's profile and brand within the Hong Kong market

To ensure that SGL Hong Kong meets our strategic target to be: An efficient, customer-centric, innovative and highly technical life & health reinsurer to enhance SCOR’s ability to write profitable new business in Hong Kong.

Experience: 

·  3 - 5 years of relevant working experience in life & health insurance, reinsurance or consulting fields in Hong Kong
·  Familiar with Hong Kong life insurance industry and products (protection product pricing knowledge will be a plus)
·  In-depth knowledge with Medical and Critical Illness business is preferred
·  Background with solvency II and economic capital is preferred
·  Familiar with Excel and other actuarial software such as Prophet or/and AXIS
·  Ability to work in a team environment embedded in a global network

Required Education:

·  Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or related discipline
·  Closed to Fellow / Fellow members in actuarial bodies

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide timely pricing support on quotation requests

·  Assess business opportunities critically and identify those worth pursuing
·  Recommend alternative / innovative deal structures to mitigate key risks while meeting SCOR’s internal profitability objectives
·  Support complex long-term cashflow projection pricing modelling, validation, and communication according to the actuarial principle, accounting rules and SCOR specific requirements
·  Build and support pricing model enhancements for all business lines
·  Assist in new business reporting
·  Review consistency between complex cashflow pricing models with pricing memos
·  Ensure quotations sent are accurate and provided within client deadlines

 

2. Other Pricing related duties

·  Support the team with various internal projects, including but not limited to: market research, development of pricing guideline across different lines of business, experience monitoring and reporting
·  Collaborate closely with the other teams on new product development initiatives
·  Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and participate in client visits and / or other marketing initiatives on a needed basis
·  Provide support on treaty preparation and review on a needed basis
·  Ensure adherence to SCOR’s internal pricing processes, and pricing bases are consistent with SGL Pricing Guidelines
·  Ensure adherence to other internal controls and best practice standards at all times
