Job description

The Center of Excellence is responsible for:

·  managing and reviewing several annual and interim reports (URD, Half-Year Report, Climate Report);
·  preparing Group Executive Committee (COMEX) and Group Audit Committee presentations on large complex accounting transactions and reporting 
·  reviewing complex transactions, in line with IFRS, and reviewing/drafting the corresponding accounting memos, in collaboration with business units, local teams, etc.;
·  monitoring accounting standards and coordinating IFRS lobbying activities;
·  preparing and conducting IFRS trainings for the finance community
·  conducting quarterly financial closing processes (audit fees, internal management representation letters, communication with auditors, etc.)

The CoE is also regularly involved in projects impacting financial reporting.

Required experience & competencies

·  Industry knowledge of (re)insurance business
·  Experience in auditing and analyzing consolidated financial statements
·  At least five years of working in a Big 4 and/or similar experience in industry
·  Excellent English and French required (reports / discussions in both languages)
·  Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills – able to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing to senior management

Key duties and responsibilities

·  Assist the Head of Center of Excellence with the drafting of COMEX and Audit Committee presentations (ad hoc and quarterly close presentations); 
·  Support in solving IFRS/S2 accounting questions and issues through thorough facts finding, research on technical aspects and applying existing SCOR accounting guidance;
·  Pro-actively work with all HUB offices, legal entities and Business Units on accounting issues, either raised by Group entities or by the Group Finance Team;
·  Document accounting issues treated and be responsible for subsequent updates if required;
·  Ensure appropriate documentation procedures and accounting policies exist and processes are in place to keep up to date;
·  Draft and implement appropriate finance policies and procedures for the production of externally reported information;
·  Remain fully abreast of IFRS developments, proactively monitoring IFRS developments and contributing to assess impact of accounting and reporting developments and potential changes for the Group, assist in the work related to the CFO Forum 
·  Support in preparation of and participate in conducting IFRS trainings to ensure that the entire finance team globally are adequately trained and maintain core IFRS knowledge;
·  Support in management of quarterly closing processes under CoE responsibility 
·  Contribute to URD and HYR process (reviewing and reading draft reports);
·  Contribute to projects, from a coordination and content perspective.
