Job description
The job holder will be a senior member of the SGP&C Specialty Insurance Single Risks Pricing & Modelling team supporting single-risk business written on SCOR Company Paper and SCOR Syndicate with a particular focus on Syndicate LOBs in the short-term.
The Cat Modelling Team is embedded within the Specialty Insurance Single-Risk Pricing & Modelling Team will interpret, communicate, and provide reliable, and accurate CAT (natural and man-made) analytics to underwriting teams and other internal and external Stakeholders. Job holder will also represent Single-Risk Cat Modelling team in the ongoing development of SCOR catastrophe modelling systems and ensure consistency of CAT modelling approach is maintained across SCOR Specialty.
This role would suit an Exposure Management Analyst / Cat Risk Analyst who would like to take the next step in their career and broaden their knowledge. The Single-Risk Cat Modelling process will be going through a series of transformation project, and it provides the opportunity to work within a diverse Team who oversee a global book of single-risks business.
Required experience & competencies
Required experience
· We are looking for creative and result oriented individual with at 3-4 years’ experience in an Exposure Management or Cat Modelling team.
· Experience in Lloyd’s/London market with a particular focus on Property, Fine Art, Specie, Terrorism and Cyber
· Strong catastrophe modelling skills and portfolio management for direct/insurance business, using RMS RiskLink (preferable) or AIR Clasic2/Touchstone.
· Good understanding of the underwriting process, commercial considerations and policy terms and conditions.
· Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Access and SQL within a cat modelling context.
· Team player, committed to sharing knowledge and further learning.
· Experience in any programming languages (e.g. R, Python) within a cat modelling context is desirable.

· Effective communication and collaboration skills with excellent interpersonal verbal and written skills that enables the candidate to communicate with colleagues from non cat-modelling background.
· Has a commercial outlook but with a principled stand where required and contributes to create viable and innovative solutions that outperform competitors and differentiates SCOR.
Required Education and Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject such as Mathematics, Economics, and Geography.
· Progression towards a professional qualification would be an advantage.
Key Duties and responsibilities
· Manage CAT pricing and accumulation process and act as key point of contact for single-risk lines of business
· Support and help Underwriters interpret and use outputs from CAT models appropriately
· Support other Stakeholders in designing and improving analytics and MI related to CAT at segment and portfolio level to support management in decision making
· Represent Single-Risk CAT Modelling in ongoing CAT modelling / transformation projects such as CAT systems development, evaluation of new CAT models, impact analysis on any model changes and implementation of appropriate adjustment factors to reflect SCOR view of risk.
· Peer review and sign-off CAT outputs produced by other Team members and ensure data used within CAT model represents the underlying exposure
· Provide continual suggestions to improve efficiency of current modelling, pricing, and portfolio workflow
· Ensuring that regular portfolio roll-up and probabilistic analyses are delivered on schedule.
· Work with external Stakeholders to develop pricing/accumulation methodologies for territories or lines with no models, or where those available are considered unsuitable
