Job description

The ‘Systems & Tools’ team is part of ‘Pricing and Modelling Central Functions’ of SCOR P&C and are responsible for the provision and evolution of the systems/tools related to the timely and accurate processing of catastrophe data that supports the functions of pricing, global accumulation, and capital modelling.

The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of loss modelling tools/processes, pricing and accumulation information systems and business-related operations in the domain of (re)insurance.

The candidate must be familiar with best practices for gathering stakeholder requirements and be able to work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to analyse, document, and translate the needs into actionable/achievable solutions.  Project management skills and working knowledge of agile methodology are highly desirable.

The role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including the ability to explain complex topics in a simple manner.

Experience:

·  Several years of working experience around business system projects within the (re)insurance sector
·  Strong analytical/statistical skills on data related to (re)insurance and related systems/processes
·  Deep working knowledge of at least one catastrophe modelling platform (RMS, AIR, IF, etc)
·  Advanced skills around business analysis/documentation and change management processes
·  Knowledge on data management/processing techniques, and on current systems architecture options
·  Advanced programming skills including C#, Python, R, SQL, and DevOps
·  Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI
·  Advanced MS Office skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
·  Working knowledge of the agile framework

Required Education

·  Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics,or related discipline, or equivalent qualifications 
·  Business and systems analysis including comprehensive documentation of business requirements, workflows and use cases
·  Solving problems including identifying, proposing, and executing new prototype solutions as needed and/or further rationalisation of existing processes and proposals around technology choices.
·  Support project delivery against requirements and planning, validation of system releases and coordination of User Acceptance Testing
·  Front-line operational business support/coordination and training, including serving as a subject matter expert for applications, processes, data flows and related transformations
·  Working closely with the business stakeholders and IT project teams to maintain systems including the management of reference data and business logic
·  Facilitating regular project communications between the business and IT teams
·  The working environment is geographically and culturally diverse with many multi-disciplinary stakeholders (scientist, engineers, actuaries, underwriters, developers, etc).
