Job description
The Reserving & Technical Closing Solutions Analyst will work on Group, Property & Casualty and Life & Health solutions around three key domains of the closing chain:
· Cashflows integration
· CSM calculation engine
· Technical closing (accounting subledger)
The analyst contributes to the full life cycle of Reserving and Technical closing processes, which includes large projects, BAU/maintenance activities. The team supports Finance worldwide for both Group and local scope/GAAPs.
In this context, the business analyst will have a key role on defining and building solutions on a Finance perimeter which was highly impacted by IFRS17 by:
· providing a high-level of expertise on solutions for both Reserving and Closing activities;
· and your technical know-how on market solutions and best-practices.
As the primary point of contact for business on their target evolutions, you will be their main support to address any regulatory or business requirements definition while keeping a critical eye on the functional coherence (IFRS17 stabilization, Reserving & Technical Closing chain optimization, Digital Closing). You will ensure the proper implementation of all functional evolutions in our systems, coordinating all stakeholders (Business, IT, external providers) with a quality delivery orientated mindset, respecting budget, milestones, and planning.
· Experience as Finance Business Analyst on Reserving and/or Technical Closing Solutions for a (re)insurance company
· Experience contributing to large Finance transformation projects, ideally for (re)insurers (e.g., design, coordination, implementation, testing).
· Extensive experience working on the closing process and generating meaningful insights.
· Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
· Ability to work in an agile mode (incl. contributing to sprint planning, using Gantt charts, managing a backlog) would be appreciated.
· Business production experience (Reserving and/or Technical Closing) in a (re)insurance company would be appreciated.
· Market knowledge of existing actuarial solutions (reserving, estimates) would be a differentiator.
Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all stakeholders and team members, regardless of seniority and department.
Required Education
· Master's degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school, business school, or university.
Ongoing/Obtained Actuarial Certification (e.g. IA, CEA, SOA) or accounting certification (Chartered Accountant would be a valuable asset.
Under the supervision of Head of Financial Closing Solutions, you will be responsible for:
· Contributing to the design of target Reserving & Technical Closing solutions including the upgrade/enhancements of SCOR’s core technical closing solution by providing their expertise on market standards and ensuring consistency of business requirement definition.
· Ensuring global consistency between CSM/Estimates/Technical Closing solutions & associated functionalities, as well as the cross-functionality of solutions, notably between L&H and P&C chains.
· Conducting in-depth research and thinking critically about how to solve business pain points, with a problem-solving mindset.
· Coordinating solutions’ agile implementation through tracking and reporting of project progress, supporting IT & Business teams.
· Supporting the implementation of decision-making processes and documentation for maintenance and auditability purposes ( e.g., training materials, functional design, user guides, process reviews, closing calendars).
· Managing business testing through testing strategy definition, coordination and ensuring its proper execution (sometimes ahead of business testers).
· Performing regular quality control testing (Non-Regression Tests) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the existing systems.
· Answering BAU-related questions from end-users and providing useful technical support on Reserving & Technical Closing solutions.
Keeping a good knowledge of best-in-class market solutions and functionalities and their transcription in the SCOR environment.
