Job description
The Department provides shared services to various companies under the Americas Hub scope. The candidate will learn valuable accounting/finance skills, as well as reinsurance practices through daily involvement in the Department’s processes.
Required Education:
· Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
· Accounting experience or accounting coursework (general knowledge of accounting methods and concepts).
· Previously worked in an office environment in an accounting or finance dept.
· Working with Financial Statements, specifically Profit and Loss and Balance Statement preferred (Not required)
Personal Competencies:
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft office tools. Ability to learn new software products.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for
roles that will be performed in New York. Actual internship salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, role and length of program. Pay range $20 - $22 for a 10 week program.
· Working closely to assist the Corporate Accounting Supervisor with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) quarter end closing process.
· Balancing sheet and cash reconciliations, including daily Bank Accounts, Receivables/Payables and Fixed Assets.
· Assisting with generating and analyzing expense reports for intercompany allocated expenses.
· Prepping of Journal Entries in General Ledger.
· Working with Statutory Accounting (U.S. Local Reporting) team on various tasks in their accounting close.
· Assisting tax accountant with various municipality and state premium tax returns.
