Claims Analyst, Single Risk Property

Job description
This Claims Analyst position will work with the claim unit which manages all claims emanating from Single Risk property business in the US . The ideal candidate will have familiarity with and an understanding of property claims operation and handling of primary or facultative reinsurance claims. The candidate will have the ability to independently process transactions related to first party claims. The position is an integral part of SCOR’s client focused initiative and requires not only a certain level of claim expertise but the ability to deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders and clients both internal and external to SCOR. A Claims Analyst will be responsible for assigned claims and will communicate regularly with internal staff (i.e., claim experts, management, accounting, underwriters) and externally with adjusters, brokers and vendor clients. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Property Claims in New York. SCOR has a hybrid working model.
· The candidate should have 2 – 5 years of combined insurance/facultative reinsurance property claims handling experience; varying levels of expertise and experience will be considered.
· The candidate should possess and/or have made progress towards various State Licensing requirements.
· Competency with claim handling systems,
· Microsoft Office suite and basic
· office management systems and procedures is required.
· Proven ability to act as part of a team yet dependable enough to operate independently when required.
· Flexibility and adaptability required in order to manage volume.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and set priorities.
· Comfort level with technology.
· Interest in further skill development through on-the-job experience and training.
· College degree preferred.
· Post-graduate degree and/or industry certification/designation a plus

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $55,000 - $80,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives. Manage and process inventory of direct first party property and facultative reinsurance claims for Commercial Property portfolio which entails:
· Review, process and acknowledge incoming initial notices of loss.
· Timely and accurately process payment of all expense and indemnity payments on Single Risk Claims, including Reinsurance billings, as directed and/or within the authority provided.
· Manage own claims within authority, effectively, from beginning to end with continued assessment of quantum of the claim, reserving and settlement.
· Collaborating and assisting in the account management of assigned accounts, often with other internal department representatives.
· Collaborate with colleagues within Single Risks and in other departments, including accounting and treasury, to ensure all information is provided to enable timely payment of claims.
· Recognizing and referring all claims which require further review by others within the claim department and beyond authority levels.
· Anticipating client needs and expectations and delivering superior customer service.
· Working effectively with others within the claim department, particularly with other claim experts and analysts, to ensure prompt turnaround and response to clients.
