Alternative Solutions is a department of P&C Solutions.
P&C Solutions is a key unit within SCOR P&C which brings technical and underwriting services to the two business units of the Division: Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance.
Alternative Solutions provide a wide range of highly sophisticated solutions for the transformation, financing, and transfer of (re)insurance risks.
The SCOR “Alternative” offering consists in:
· Structured (re)insurance contract (multiyear multiline products, retrospective reinsurance, structured quota-share, 2nd event protections, …)
· Parametric solutions
· Fronting solutions.
Alternative Solutions team members are located in Paris, Zurich, London, New York, and Singapore and beneficiate from P&C division support, work closely with other P&C market & reinsurance managers, and have direct contact with clients and brokers to:
· Contribute to the achievement of the underwriting plan
· Contribute to the overall results of the Group by sound technical and profitable underwriting
· Develop SCOR’s market share and leadership position
· Enhance Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs
· Within the Alternative Solutions Business Unit, you are in charge of developing and maintaining the “Alternative” offering to SCOR Reinsurance underwriting teams, clients, and brokers with a primary focus on the Americas. You are also responsible for the profitability of the portfolio you underwrite.
· Ideally, a minimum of 3 years of work experience on “alternative risk transfer” in an international environment, additional reinsurance experience a plus
· Proven underwriting skills (marketing, negotiation, structuring, pricing, wording),
· Proven ability to define and implement a business plan
· Proven ability to develop a commercial and tactical vision
· Ability to successfully negotiate “face-to-face” with brokers and clients
· Ability to use complex spreadsheets, word and PowerPoint
· Sound technical knowledge of subjects associated with non-traditional underwriting as well as a wider understanding of related actuary, accounting, legal, regulatory, and capital management topics
· Knowledge of competitors, clients, and brokers
· Ability to manage projects in coordination with various stakeholders

· Pricing / cash flow modeling experience would be a plus

· A minimum of a college degree in Actuarial Science, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent discipline. A business degree in addition would be a plus.
· Spanish language would be appreciated.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, exams passed, and attained designations or certifications. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $215,000 - $250,000 salary pay year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. · Originate, design, evaluate, and price offers of non-traditional/alternative deals proposals from various sources and negotiate conditions of the contracts, in coordination with the traditional Reinsurance underwriter, in accordance with the underwriting management guidelines, and in coordination with the pricing department for actuarial support and validation
· Manage and renew an existing portfolio of non-traditional/alternative deals currently in place
· Promote non-traditional/alternative deals to SCOR clients, brokers, and SCOR underwriting teams
· Bring technical support to SCOR Specialty Insurance underwriting teams in respect of Alternative Solutions for Key Accounts,
· Generate new offers and promote the Group through proactive marketing in accordance with the strategy and guidelines
· Respond to all offers in a timely manner
· Maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders
· Contribute to the deal maintenance, including reporting, reserving, and claims settlements in conjunction with the relevant departments
· Investigate and analyze existing and new markets in the area and propose new contracts in order to develop the existing portfolio
· Contribute to the technical knowledge of non-traditional solutions
