POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the productive and efficient operation of various packaging machinery including Slat Filler, Thermoformers, cappers, and other production related equipment. Responsible for set-up, disassembling, cleaning and basic maintenance on packaging equipment.

This role is a 1st shift position. Hours: 6:30am – 2:30pm.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

· 
Technicians are required to use tools and dis-assemble and re-assemble different machinery.

· 
Performs set-up and prepares line for packaging of various packaged products to include varying designs, components and packaging equipment.

· 
Provides packaging supplies and bulk product as required to feed packaging machines and change as necessary (i.e. bottles, labels, and caps).

· 
Continually observes product and materials used and rejects any, substandard materials or packages not in conformance with FDA-cGMP’s.

· 
Documents, monitors and maintains proper fill levels as based on the product specifications.

· 
Operates packaging line according to Set-Up Sheets, SPI, SOP’s and other required and instructed procedures.

· 
Observes operation of equipment and lubricates, makes minor mechanical repairs or requests mechanics assistance as needed.

· 
Assists mechanic with packaging line changeover.

· 
Disassembles equipment at end of production runs and cleans in accordance with Chattem procedures to comply with FDA- cGMP’s.

· 
Responsible for confirmation of proper procedures by signing a permanent record indicating the appropriate cleaning procedures have been followed.

· 
Maintains a safe work area and observes all company safety regulations; reports any unsafe conditions to management.

· 
Continuously develops skills and experience to include required training to comply with FDA and cGMP requirements. p. Machine and Equipment (Required on Job)

· 
Packaging machinery, freight elevator, electric and manual lift truck, tape machines, and various tools. 

· 
Packaging machinery to include: filler, capper, bottle cleaner, labeler, cartoner, and bundler.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

· 
High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience

· 
At least one (1) year of Manufacturing Experience required

· 
At least one (1) year of high-speed packaging or assembly equipment experience required

Professional Skills

· 
Must work in a professional and collaborative style

· 
Must maintain a satisfactory attendance record and be able to work with limited to no supervision at times

Role Specific Competencies

· 
Must be able to use packaging machinery, electric and manual lift truck, tape machines and various mechanic tools, filler, capper, bottle cleaner, labeler, cartoner, and bundler

· 
Must be able to lift 25-60 pounds and stand or walk approximately 100% of the time. Nearly constant visual attention and alertness are required as well as exceptional coordination, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude

Special Requirements

· 
Dress code requirements include: uniforms, hair covers and/or head covering, safety shoes, gloves, dust masks, and safety glasses as required by job conditions, provided by Sanofi Consumer Products

· 
Training will be required as needed and determined by department supervisor to ensure Sanofi Consumer Products procedures compliance as required by FDA-cGMP’s

· 
Job conditions include some exposure to product, dust, and grease in work area and exposure to recognized hazards of packing machinery

· 
Must successfully complete required pre-employment testing

Desired Qualifications

· 
Lean Six Sigma Certification

· 
Previous pharmaceutical experience

· 
Working knowledge of Production Automation Systems (i.e. SAP)
