The main functions of a Production Engineer include:
• Producing work instructions in accordance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and other approved maintenance data
• Submission and management of concessions (repairs outside of the CMM or maintenance data)
• Finding solutions and fixes for component and process rejects
• Supporting root cause analysis including 8D investigations through data analysis and feedback of corrective actions to the operators and management team
• Attending and providing input to support daily problem solving and quality control stand ups.

What will I be doing?
• Act as a key focal point across all shop floor areas to resolve issues to enable process recovery to specification and to provide general advice where needed.
• Assess components and where applicable, select and apply corrective actions, recording any rejects and finding suitable solutions.
• Ensure all non-conformities are processed efficiently to ensure accurate reporting, prompt closure and robust containment & corrective actions are in place.
• Analyse reject and performance data to identify process improvements that reduce average hours and shop processing times. Support problem solving and root cause analysis investigations.
• Be the technical expert to manage the effective and efficient close out of root cause analysis actions.
• Participate in and lead lean sigma initiatives to identify and eliminate waste activity, promote standardisation and drive out operating and working capital cost.
• Consult with engineering teams at Safran OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the progression of new repairs and concessions including verifying, submitting, reviewing concessions.
• Review and share technical document updates, comparing with other Group sites and making any necessary updates.
• Support company audit responsibility in all aspects (i.e.) internal Work Procedure compliance.
Candidate skills & requirements
What do I need to succeed in the role?
• Engineering Degree or HND/HNC qualified
• Comprehensive product and process knowledge obtained within the aerospace industry.
• Strong attention to detail but without getting fixated on the finer details.
• Produce work to a high standard within reasonable timescales.
• Key communicator with confident decision-making abilities.
• A thorough understanding and pragmatic application of applicable processes, procedures and compliances.
• Effective organisation and planning skills with the ability to manage personal workloads.
• Flexible approach, open minded and keen sense of “right first time”.
