The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!

Roche Diagnostics has created a new business - Diagnostics Information Solutions (DIS) - that is charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data to intelligently process and present this data to healthcare professionals which allows for improved patient care.

Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2021

· 
Completed at least 1 year of college/university to be eligible for the program

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poser Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience

Responsibilities:

· 
Work as part of a development team writing code that will eventually be released into production

· 
Learn Agile processes and contribute to our Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline.

· 
Take on exploratory or research projects to assess new and emerging technologies.

· 
Be responsible for the quality and performance of your work, and learn how it fits into the larger healthcare solutions that Roche provides to its customers.

Qualifications:

· 
Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline

· 
Familiarity or hands-onsoftware development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar language.

· 
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular is plus

· 
Experience with or interest and drive to learn cloud technologies and principles; AWS is preferred

· 
Be ready and excited to work on software applications that are used in the healthcare space by doctors all over the world

What you will learn:

· 
Oncology Clinical Decision Support products and how your work will improve patient care

· 
Writing clean code, testing and automation related activities involving data-driven applications.

· 
Helping security automation pipeline for public cloud platform such as AWS

· 
Working on general scripting using tools such as Python or Shell scripting

· 
Work on Cloud for AWS

Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. Borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus. We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
