Curious how it feels in the glamour world of precious sticky notes, blue waters of agile islands and unexpected weather conditions while sailing on open innovation waters where only the horizon is the limit?

Innovation Lab Basel is looking for a crew member with a passion for innovation who desires to work with us to apply and develop hands-on innovation methodologies, to grow intrapreneurship spirit and mindset as well as promote digital technologies across our networks.   

Our Innovation Lab belongs to the Pharma Site (PS) Organisation in Basel and Kaiseraugst (Switzerland) and is a member of the broader Roche’s Innolab Network. We test new ideas, create new business opportunities and show technologies you can touch. Innovation Lab is where modern workspaces and forward-looking technologies meet applied methodological expertise and innovative spirit.

We manage a diverse portfolio of activities and here is what you may expect:

  • Play an active role in the further development of our Innovation lab and its network

  • Learn how to apply and facilitate applied innovation methods and tools

  • Get involved in the creation of low-fidelity digital mockups and prototypes

  • Gain understanding for innovation frameworks and programmes

  • Seize the opportunity to become a coach on innovation projects 

  • Organise and lead inspiring sessions and training events

  • Experience digital technologies  

  • Work with the the existing frameworks and develop new innolab solutions and offerings

  • Gain insight into the diverse field of innovation at Roche

You have an open mind for daily challenges and offer professional as well as personal assistance. You take over responsibility and strengthen the trust within a team through transparency and an open “failure culture”. Furthermore, you have the ability to network and are an organisational talent. Your great interest in people and familiarity with agile methods and tools complete your profile.

Following professional skills and interests are of high value to us:

  • Interest for innovation management and or digital technologies

  • First understanding of innovation & customer-centric methodologies e.g. design thinking and lean start-up

  • Ability to structure content and deliver conceptional work

  • Excitement to host and facilitate workshops and events 

  • Passion and ability to design, structure and formulate content to be distributed in our various communication channels e.g. writing skills, video editing, social media

Although pirates in our souls, we belong to the navy. Here are some hard requirements:

  • You are an enrolled student in a Bachelor or Master’s degree or just finalised your university diploma in the past 12 months, preferably in the area of human-computer interaction, user experience, Service or Product Design or similar

  • You are fluent in oral and written German and English 

  • CV and motivation letter (including desired start date and duration)

  • For UK, non-EU/EFTA citizens: Certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory (required due to regulations)

The internship start date is set preferably to April 2024 or upon availability for at least 6 and up to 12 months.
