Scope

As a member of the Roche Diagnostic Japan Enabling Team (ET) and Informatics Partner,  you lead the affiliate and collaborate closely with the GM and ET members to bridge between Roche Informatics strategy and Japan Affiliate goals with the enterprise mindset. You build trusted relationships with our stakeholders including but not limited to business functions, healthcare ecosystem parties, Informatics domains and chapters, and external vendors to deliver strategy and solutions aligning with our Roche ambitions.You act as an enabler for business technology and strategy development topics, risk management and relationship management for the ultimate benefit of patients. 

As a Senior Leader of Roche, you have a creative mindset, willing for open discussion, and challenging the status quo to be a better version of ourselves.

You are also the Informatics Partnering Cluster co-lead for J-Oceania (Japan) to provide leadership and direction on cluster subject matters.

What you'll be working on 

In this role, you will

  • Demonstrate VACC(Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach) leadership competencies with experience in leading, coaching and developing people and network teams 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence decision making.

  • Being an effective Coach for not only Informatics members, but also other colleagues for their capability development with a holistic view

  • Partner with our stakeholders, including affiliate and regional senior stakeholders, to drive impactful outcomes by co-creating business strategies and technology-enabled roadmaps that align with our local and regional goals & objectives. 

  • Apply understanding of external technology trends to long term business strategy and market opportunities

  • Proactively identify business opportunities to architect, design, prototype and collaborate with business and product leads/owners to deliver continually improved products 

  • Bring thought leadership to our stakeholders to shape differentiated capabilities and impact for our healthcare ecosystem. 

  • Lead our stakeholders to synthesize and direct requests to connect-the-dots for our Informatics products. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for issue escalation and collaborate with Product lead/owner to deliver expected project/opportunity outcome. 

  • Participate in squad, chapter and domain meetings/ceremonies and Collaboration-Pods (C-Pods) 

  • Actively contribute to best practice sharing to advance our collective learning and capability building. 

  • Continually seeks reuse and promote solutions that address common business opportunities to fulfill business needs 

  • Ensure end-to-end IT effectiveness by collaborating with Informatics chapters and domains 

  • Enable IT Processes in assigned area of responsibility 

As Informatics Cluster co-lead for J-Oceania (Japan), you are the key go-to-person for unclear counterparts, escalation point for operational topics including

  • Lead the cluster with facilitation skills and organization

  • Support Informatic Partners for prioritization and communication

  • Lead a team of Informatics Partners through VACC leadership

  • Partner affiliates and business leads as appropriate

  • Bring opportunities from DIA and Pharma for synergies

  • Act and coach and mentor for the team

  • Drive integrating IT functions on the ground
     

Requirements 

The ideal candidate

  • Strong communication skills to build trusted relationships with various stakeholders to solve the complex problems and to achieve Roche Ambitions together. 

  • Academic graduation in IT, business or equivalent and track record of leading teams in a matrix environment. You have breadth of experience working in an international environment, successfully collaborating & influencing senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Possesses strong business knowledge and is well networked in the Japan technology Ecosystem.

  • Monitors industry/technology trends and market challenges to identify opportunities and co-create strategic solutions.

  • Approaches collaborations with a customer centric, entrepreneurial and agile mindset to navigate through ambiguity, manage complexity and support the Business to make trade-off decisions

  • Promotes innovation, self-regulation and empowerment of direct and indirect team members

  • Nurtures and develops a business savvy consultative and value driven partnership.

  • Exhibits the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset and servant leadership behavior

  • Exhibits systems thinking with a high degree of self-awareness, empathy, deep listening, active curiosity, awareness of different norms and expectations

  • Fluent in English and Japanese are a must.

  • This position will be based in Japan.
