R&I internship - Study on water-resistance in watches

Job description
MISSION
Starting in February 2025, we are looking for a 6-month intern to conduct research into the water-resistance of watches and validate innovative concepts.
RESPONSABILITIES
In direct collaboration with the R&I Performance and Reliability team and the analysis laboratory, and under the responsibility of your internship supervisor, you will be responsible for the following missions:
· Take control of equipment, identify capabilities and limitations;
· Carry out measurements on watches;
· Define the validation plan for an innovative concept;
· Design tools and have them manufactured;
· Perform measurements on innovative concepts;
· Analyze and synthesize results;
· Validate the accuracy and robustness of measurements;
· Participate in meetings and present results.
PROFIL
You are a Master-level engineering student with a good knowledge of general mechanics, and a sensitivity to fluid mechanics. Fluent in French and English.
Able to carry out a measurement campaign in a laboratory environment, you have a particular interest in watchmaking.
Dynamic, organized and autonomous, you have an excellent ability to synthesize information and are proactive. With good interpersonal skills, you demonstrate writing skills and analytical rigor.
Based mainly in Buttes at the Manufacture ValFleurier, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other research sectors within our hub located in Microcity, Neuchâtel.
