JEWELER - FORT WORTH, TEXAS
MAIN PURPOSE
Reporting to the Dismantling/Polishing/Cleaning Supervisor, the Jeweler is responsible for the jewelry works necessary to repair watch cases and bracelets where spare parts cannot be replaced, in particular for vintage watches.
As part of the polishing team, the individual is also responsible to assist in polishing and cleaning the bracelet and case components of the watches, prior to the repair of the watches. The position requires experience as a Jeweler in addition to a high level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts and provide a best-in class quality.
Perform tasks following accepted industry standard procedures for product repairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
50% of time Jewelry Work:
· Repair cases & Bracelets
· Set Stones
· Remove broken screws
· Fill and re-tap screw holes
· Must be able to use a laser welder for jewelry repairs
25% of time Polishing Specialties:
· Rhodium plating for the white gold watches.
· Fill dents using the Laser welding technique.
· Polish the Bracelet and Case components of the timepieces, following procedures and tools defined by the Brands, in addition to the request of the Customer.
· Ensure that the all components are not mixed between watches.
20% Cleaning:
· Prepare the components for cleaning.
· Clean all components with proper equipment, when necessary.
5% of time Maintenance and Organization of the Working environment:
· Follow RNA and Brands’ specifications:
· Tools
· Technical procedure
· Work assignments
· Standards of Quality & Standard Time of Operations (STOs)
· Maintain Tools and Equipment
· Ensure that all equipment used are calibrated and maintained at a high standard
· Proper layout and accessibility of all tools and equipment
· Maintain a cleaned, organized and safe working area
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· High School Diploma or GDA
Required Experience:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a jeweler.
· Using a laser welder is preferred
· Technical experience in the watch industry is preferred.
· Working experience with luxury brands is a plus.
Technical Skills/Abilities:
· High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts, with a strong attention to detail.
· Understanding of Mechanical Applications is a plus.
· Ability to follow instructions and efficiently provide a high level of quality.
Personal Skills:
· Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Good communication and listening skills.
· Computer skills are a plus.
