TRAINEE BUYER (Entry level Buying) - Childrenswear
Location:  Reading, Berkshire (25 mins from London Paddington)
Starting salary:  £23,570

As a Trainee Buyer at Primark you will support the Assistant Buyer & Buyer in the day to day running of the department while aiming to maximise sales and profit. 

Reporting into the Assistant Buyer & Buyer your key responsibilities include:
·  Sales & Commercial Focus  Accurately input orders, and update and amend accordingly. Assess range against competitors and use fashion publication to identify trends and put forward ideas. Give personal input on the selection of garments.
·  Identify Range Opportunities Interpret trends and translate into commercial products using trade fairs, WGSN & fashion publications. Review competitor offer. Assist with preparation of range reviews and sign offs
·  Develop & Source Products Communicate daily with suppliers and attend meetings.  Manage the critical path and all paperwork related with the delivery of product.
·  Samples & Specifications Establish relevant garment specifications and maintain high standards. Management of sealing and production samples as well as preparation of size specifications. Review lab dip submissions and ensure garment samples are received on time. Coordinate samples for press requests and complete lab dip and fit comments under the guidance of the Buyer.

In order to be considered for this position you will need to have a degree or post A-level qualification in Buying or similar subject or be an existing Buying Assistant that is used to working in a fast paced environment.
