This is a newly created role within our Supply Chain team. You will be responsible for managing our Packaging and Compliance and will be involved in some key projects within Supply Chain.
Purpose of role:
· Establish and reinforce best practice within Primark Supply Chain, coaching Trading teams and suppliers in order to minimise instances of product and packaging non-compliance, thereby reducing delays to product shipment, rework costs and increasing availability to customers.
· Management of supplier compliance for all suppliers.
· Act as a direct link between Depot compliance teams and trading colleagues to communicate issues and manage change.
· Support the delivery and on-going development of supplier packaging system. Engage, train and support Suppliers and colleagues.
· Supporting the Supply Chain team in the development of continuous improvements projects.
· Assist the Operations Development Manager with the management and delivery of key projects, system development and continuous improvements
Reports to: Logistics Manager UK, ROI & USA
Location: Flexible – Reading, Dublin or Islip (Northamptonshire) office
Key Responsibilities:
· To liaise with Trading Teams, 3PL and depots to ensure all requirements of suppliers are clearly articulated and communicated.
· Provision of training materials for Packaging and wider Depot compliance programme. This includes creation of “how to videos” to illustrate processes and drive physical compliance.
· Weekly Compliance calls and meetings with Origin teams, Imports and Depot’s to discuss previous weeks Domestic, FOB and CFS compliance issues.
· Delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) - Improve Supplier Compliance, reduce receiving errors, target savings.
· Undertake project work as required.
· Effective leadership and management of the Supplier Compliance Teams within depots.
· Effectively communicate compliance trends and key issues to a high level within the business in an accurate and timely manner via compliance dashboards and reports.
· Driving quality improvements within packaging.
· Managing the inbound packaging booking-in procedure to ensure all suppliers have complied with Primark’s packaging requirements.
· Managing a packaging database.
· Reporting on the benefits/gains of standardised packaging post-implementation.
· Identifying and recommending opportunities for further cost improvement within packaging.
· Produce regular non-conformance compliance reports and analysis.
· To analyse and report on all suppliers for their packaging compliance.
· Work with the Depots on recording and reporting accuracy, feedback on actions/progress made.
· Produce and agree improvement plans in conjunction with the Suppliers and Buying Teams.
· Manage the resolution of any commercial claims with Suppliers.
Essential knowledge, skills and experience :
· Fluency in English
· Driving Licence
· 3 years relevant work experience within Supply Chain/Packaging
· Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
· Workload planning
· Problem Solving skills
· Intermediate Microsoft Access and Excel
· VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
· Ability to Influence at all levels
· Good understanding of Transit Packaging
