EHS – Systems Manager
Purpose of role
To ensure that Operational and IT systems are robust and sufficient to support central functions and the global business requirements.
Specifically, these areas include: incident; audit; training and projects as core areas of the Primark safety management system.
Reports to: EHS Manager Operations
Location: Dublin
Duration: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
· Be the main contact and driver for all EHS information systems used by the EHS team. A keen understanding of the technological and organizational needs of an EHS function.
· Keep up-to-date with current and emerging technology and computing trends.
· Database & reporting management, data entry for multiple systems; compiles and generates informational and statistical reports, charts and metrics; and performs analysis.
· Ensure documents within the EHS Management System are current and are systematically reviewed by the appropriate document owners including updating of documents as appropriate across the regions.
· Work with internal stakeholders to develop in-house EHS online training material.
· Understand which training programmes are working best in the regions and apply the learnings throughout the business
· Support the Internal Audit system and liaise with the audit providers to ensure the agreed programme of work is executed. Support the management review meetings, management of supplier KPI's and ensure continuous improvements in the process.
· Prepare accurate and timely reports communicating all KPI's and support each region completing their KPI returns in a timely manner.
· Identify appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance against agreed corporate objectives and targets and report these periodically to Head of EHS.
· Provides support to each region for the corporate audit programme and supports the closure of any findings by developing and implementing corrective action.
· Support the development and embedding of the EHS strategy by monitoring timelines, preparing schedules and following up on action plans.
· Work with EHS Management on cost estimation and budget planning for EHS projects.
· Keep the Primark principle of ‘Smart Spend’ at the heart of all projects.
· Ensure project timelines are adhered to so EHS efficiencies are developed and monitored. Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
· Primary degree in engineering / science / business discipline (Qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety a distinct advantage).
· Experience in and passion for systems and software platforms essential.
· Competency in all Microsoft systems (Word, Excel, Power Point) essential.
· Ability to keep abreast of trends, legislation and related best practice in the field of EHS.
· Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management and to foster effective working relations with a wide range of senior internal and external contacts;
· Results orientated with a strong focus on the delivery of objectives, including an ability to provide creative and innovative solutions based on a sound understanding of business requirements.
· Track record of project involvement and understanding of the steps to complete a successful project. The ideal individual will
· Prior experience in Retail or FMCG's experience.
· Have 3 years’ experience in the Environmental Health and Safety field.
· Have experience in project management.
· Have a track record of the successful delivery of EHS processes, policies and initiatives.
· Have a technical knowledge and experience of EHS risk management. Personal Attributes

· Be persuasive, enthusiastic and passionate about the people, commercial and environmental aspects of health and safety and be able to drive change
· Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule for self and team and work within agreed timescales.
· Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview.
· Proven ability in managing sensitive matters whilst ensuring all Primark information remains confidential to the business.
· Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills, while demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence and possess the ability to push back with professionalism. Proven ability in developing effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.

· Effective and persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to present complex information in an understandable manner to all areas of the business.
