Contract Logistics - Warehouse Management System Superuser
The Warehouse Management System (WMS) Superuser provides support for the Calgary Distribution Centre operations to effectively utilize Kuehne + Nagel’s computer management systems in order to achieve and maintain a well-functioning WMS system to service Contract Logistics customers, and enable others to be efficient WMS users. The position will primarily be responsible for training, support, and administration.

While embracing Kuehne + Nagel’s values, policies and procedures, you will collaborate with various teams to maximize operational excellence, quality, and efficiency. Systems include, but are not limited to AS400 based CIEL FW FD (internal Warehouse Management System WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), Business Objects, KN Login and PCIP (carrier integration platform).
Key Responsibilities:
• Initial implementation support and coordination of WMS for the distribution centre and customer configuration;
• User training within the facility for Go live preparation;
• Application testing with IT team, customer and local users;
• Post implementation support (1st level) for local site operational issues and reconfiguration requirements for continuous improvement initiatives. Research, troubleshoot and determine root cause of system failures including escalation to appropriate parties.
• Specification and delivery of local reporting requirements;
• Local user training and administration and maintenance of associated documentation;
• System validation and support new release testing against customer requirements;
• Identify and recommend change controls to support operational enhancements and fixes;
• Other duties as required by the company.
Qualifications:
• College degree in Logistics, Business Management, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience;
• Minimum 2 years of Distribution Centre operations experience working in the field of warehousing and/or transportation services. Third party logistics (3PL) would be considered an asset;
• Minimum 2 years technical experience working with operating systems, Unix, SQL would be considered assets, working knowledge of Oracle (or similar) database;
• Minimum 2 years technical experience with products including warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems TMS), order management systems and/or Enterprise Application Integration tools;
• Proven ability to define customer requirements and troubleshoot issues for resolution;
• Ability to mesh customer requirements and system capabilities to drive improvements into local operational processes (order management, inventory, receiving, and shipping);
• Strong interpersonal skills (communication, presentation, facilitation, and issue management);
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications. Advanced Excel skills is an asset.
