National Aerospace Operations Manager

Job description
We are looking for an experienced Aerospace Operations Manager to oversee and drive the Aerospace vertical and its P&L, under business unit Air Logistics. The main activities involved are the following: business development, solution, budget and results. Primary focus on customer excellence; people experience and bottom-line results.
Your Role
You will be responsible for organizing a team of different team leads with Aerospace Specialists of up to 30 colleagues. These teams include dedicated customer specific teams who are based on site with the customer at Schiphol Airport as well as teams in the KN office who look after all other local and network Aerospace customers. Your day-to-day activities are to ensure that your team perform all operational duties and functions in accordance with specific working instructions and Customer SOP’s. You will be working closely with different internal stakeholders and facilitate a good working relationship, in addition to building and maintaining close collaboration within the wider KN Aerospace network. With line management responsibility you will set and measure their team against aligned and business focused objectives on an on-going basis. You will role model these practices to your team.Your Responsibilities
- Develop, supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operational team activities;
- Coach, mentor and manage the team in line with KN behaviors;
- Apply knowledge of logistics and transportation methods, cost structures, service requirements, modes, tariffs, equipment, infrastructure and people availability in order to build optimal network design and optimize day-to-day business;
- Support set up and stabilization of new scope of work;
- Provide efficient management of and clear and timely communication on deviations, damages in transit and additional costs;
- P&L responsibility and analysis;
- Monitor and maintain operating procedures and working instructions;
- Continuous development of efficient standard processes and ensuring their compliance in coordination with the local Customer Care Locations;
- Strategic development of concepts and structures, taking regulatory requirements into account.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Significant experience in (Air)Transport and/or (Air) Logistics;
- Minimum of two years of management experience; preferrably in the Transport and/or Logistics sector, ideally with a focus on Airfreight;
- Leadership experience in managing a variety of teams;
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English; Dutch is a plus;
- Being a responsible team player and people manager;
- Self-motivated & able to work on own initiatives;
- Demonstrate Leadership with a high level of communication, a customer solutions orientation, and a change management mind-set;
- Time management and conflict resolution skills are critical to the role and the ability to deal with different culture background.
