What we're looking for
Do you want to the work for a leading global contract logistics provider with a worldwide network for warehouse and distribution facilities? Our Warehouse Operative role is seen as a main drive of the Operation and fulfilling our Customers' needs. By carrying out picking/goods in/goods out tasks, with use of provided tools, you will be able to provide that Customer Service within the level and timescale expected from a multi-temperature operation.
Picking, packing and despatching all scheduled and adhoc multi-modal orders to the customer ensuring all consignments are prepared, marked and labelled to the customers exacting requirements. Our ideal candidate must have excellent attention to detail and be able to accurately follow order instructions to the letter.
You will be working in a freezer warehouse and the environment is -22°C, protective clothing (all shifts) and a hot meal will be provided. We are recruiting for a PM shift ( 2PM - 10PM) but other shifts are available and we can look at part time opportunities as well. Our hourly rates of pay have recently been reviewed to ensure that they are extremely competitive in the local area.
What you'll do:
· Use material handling equipment (MHE) to unload incoming materials from trailers.
· Verify and receive goods into stock.
· Operate numerous Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE), including reach trucks, powered pallet trucks and counter-balance forklifts.
· Duties may include receiving, checking and storing goods.
· Stacking products into roll cages and repeatedly lift goods.
· Ensure the operation of all MHE is in accordance with operational procedures at all times.
· Work from pick sheets, labels or ‘pick by voice' equipment and to check and fulfil orders.
· Ensure principles of good housekeeping are maintained and ensuring that Health & Safety, Food Hygiene Standards, HACCP regulations are followed at all times, within operational procedures.
What you'll bring:
· Proven basic Math skills at secondary school level.
· Establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
· Customer Focused/Customer Orientation/Teamwork
· Prior experience in a Warehouse environment
· Able to work in a physically demanding enviornment.
