Team Leidos, which includes Kuehne+Nagel as the Storage, Distribution and Freight Delivery Partner, took over the MoD's Logistics Commodities Services Operation in August 2015; In order to support the MoD Contract and other opportunities within the public sector, the Kuehne + Nagel Government and Defence Business Unit was set up within the UK Contract Logistics Division.
Your tasks and responsibilities
• Responsible for taking reasonable care of the Health and Safety of myself and others who may be affected by my acts or omissions at work to observe best practice and compliance with legislation in the protection of the environment and conservation of energy
• To effectively manage all levels of information, especially personal information, under your control or in possession and in accordance with training received and Kuehne + Nagel policy
• Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders/customers, providing coherent and accurate communication
• Provide ‘Real Time' De-briefs. Effectively escalate issues to management for real time resolution.
• Ensure effective communication is conducted with delivery points and loading depots
• Monitor and control of Drivers and Escorts ensuring close liaison with RTS (Road Transport Services) supervisors at depots/locations
• Responsible for production of accurate Management Information including timely and accurate information for the Transport Planning Team regarding vehicle and driver availability
• Produce consolidated reports as required
• Monitor and ensure all training, especially mandated training requirements for the business
Stream is achieved in line with Kuehne + Nagel requirements
• Admin duties as required and any other duties applicable to the grade
• Be prepared to deputise as and when required
• Willing to be trained to CPC standard
• Develop knowledge of a Transport Management System to practitioner level
• Shift work to cover 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 5 shifts from 7 (Monday to Sunday)
