Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a dynamic professional for the role of Contract Logistics Site Manager based in north-eastern Italy.
Your Role
In this multifaceted position, you will be starting by overseeing the operations of an existing fulfilment centre in the Verona area. Simultaneously, you will play a crucial role in the establishment and launch of a new automated technology-driven fulfilment centre in the Venezia area. As the initiative progresses, you will seamlessly transition into the role of Site Manager, leading the successful establishment of the new facility. Your responsibilities will encompass shaping and steering operational excellence, overseeing change management, providing client support, managing budgets, and leading people management initiatives.Your Responsibilities
Existing warehouse operations
- Lead the Operations in the management of day-to-day activities within the existing warehouse.
- Ensure the fulfilment of customer needs and requirements, optimizing the utilization of space, equipment, and labour.
New fulfilment center startup:
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the startup phase for a new fulfilment centre.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and efficient launch.
- Transition into a leadership role for the newly established fulfilment centre.
Set and coordinate the implementation of the site's annual plan, focusing on service excellence and operational efficiency. - Manage human and economic resources effectively to drive success in the new facility.
Budgeting
- Plan and implement the annual budget of the fulfilment centre.
- Discuss the budget, motivate investment proposals, determine the financial feasibility of the investments.
- Manage autonomy the P&L of the fulfilment centre, weekly and monthly basis.
- Support the Operations Manager in budgeting activity.
Continuous improvement
- Proactively identify and pursue improvement opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous process innovation.
- Implement best practices to enhance overall operational efficiency.
People Management

Your Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience at a comparable level.
- Italian and English language
- Proven experience in warehouse and fulfillment center management with direct workforce management
- Proven experience in warehouse and fulfillment center management with automation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and resources effectively.
- Experience in startup operations
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
