AOG Engine Desk Coordinator

Job description

Receive incoming customer orders and arrange for the overland transportation of the shipment, while working closely with the local office to make sure the shipment is imported or exported in the timeliest manner possible.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Essential Job Duties

•Timely arrival and readiness to work at your assigned starting time.
•Process incoming customer orders via call or email, after verifying AOG status on shipments.
•Timely and accurate input of all the shipment information into our in-house software, AEL.
•Determine which airport has the best flight options to meet the customer's timeline, and liaise with the local office at that port if assistance is necessary.
•Obtain all essential documentation required for shipping the goods, as either imports or exports.
•Communicate documentation discrepancies to supervisor and/or client.
•Arrange domestic transport of goods, and ensure that the correct transportation method is used.
•Regularly update the customer or overseas office of the shipment status, and immediately convey if there are any delays.
•Work proactively to resolve any issues that may arise during the course of the shipment to ensure it is moved as quickly as possible.
Secondary Job Duties
•Be organized and detail oriented in every task that you undertake
•Answer client's calls or questions within 15 minutes. If you are unable to, respond back and explain why and when you will reply with the answer (Manage and assist to resolve all customer queries and ensure resolution of all problems).
•Interact closely with customers/departments to ensure customer service levels are achieved
•Self-initiative by taking on increasing responsibility
•Always use common sense and have a purpose for every action that you are involved in

Your skills and experience

College degree (preferred)
5 years Airfreight experience
Work closely with other departments to deliver high level of customer service to clients
Ability to prioritize tasks of different importance
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Team player which contributes individually as well as to the team
Organization, focus to detail and attention
Ability to learn new ideas and concepts
Sense of urgency and high level of energy
Proven customer skills
Ability to analyze and effectively solve problems
Accurate and rapid data entry
Basic proficiency in Spanish
Basic knowledge of INCO Terms
