·  Proven capability to apply computer science expertise to enhance various life science packages and/or pipelines to adapt to apply to a variety of life science problems e.g. soil metagenomics
·  Ability to extend distributed hash table being applied for k-mers into a library for other similar applications
·  Capability and willingness to apply bioinformatics techniques e.g. Random Forest or Support Vector Machines exploiting data centric cognitive computing on UK industry/institutions problems
Highly desirable:
Experience of technologies such as MPI, machine learning, – needs more….
Experience of translating their research outcomes towards operational use via products, services, or working with external partners
International research experience, ideally working as part of a multi-national team
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary research team
Team leadership experience
An RSM may manage or technically direct other RSMs, engineers, and/or technical support personnel.
