The Role
I BM is looking to recruit Legal Interns for its Dublin based Legal Resource Centre (“LRC”) with a strong focus on language skills and a preference for German, Italian or French speaking/qualified candidates or England & Wales qualified candidates. The internship will be remunerated and last 9-10 months, with a relocation allowance should a candidate have to move to Ireland from abroad. The remit encompasses a variety of legal tasks, including confidentiality agreements, transactional and contractual support for commercial agreements, general legal queries across a variety of topics pertinent to IBM business as well as regulatory and anti-corruption compliance support worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to become part of an exciting, dynamic and multicultural / multijurisdictional team of lawyers based in Dublin which provides support to IBM’s business in close cooperation with the local legal teams in various EMEA countries. As part of our legal team the intern will participate in our unique LRC training and education sessions and will benefit also from the education material and tools provided by IBM Corporation. Constant learning and education are key to IBM’s core legal mission.
This is a 9-10 month University Placement role.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To be considered for this role you must:
• Be fluent in English and a second EU language preferably German, Italian or French;
• Have a law degree / legal training with good academic and soft skills (for German speaking candidates: qualification with at least first State Exam (1. Staatsexamen);
• Have strong written and oral communication and time management skills;
• Have an interest in the Technology Sector and Information Technology Law;
• Be a strong team player and fast learner;
• Be open minded and passionate to work in a truly international environment;
• A good sense of humour is a plus.
