With a deep understanding of the local GCG market (comprising of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan),
GCG Field Marketing Leader will lead the team to “capture the market,” by mobilizing all the resources across Events, Digital, Brand, Social, Communications and Ecosystem Marketing to develop and build a compelling market engagement plan to achieve business pipeline and revenue objectives across our key offerings.
GCG Field Marketing Leader must lead the team with strong integrity and compliance posture, collaborate with all disciplines to be growth minded and yet nimble to look for positive changes in process when they obstruct the delivery of marketing and business outcomes.
As a senior member of the GCG M&C team, you are responsible to motivate and engage not only the field team but the wider GCG M&C team to deliver their best work. As a leader, we expect you to invest time to cultivate top talent, motivate every team members, and plan for succession across key roles so that we retain and grow our people.
Your Role and Responsibilities
This market focused role is represents IBM M&C to clients, sellers and business partners. You are externally focused to bring the voice of the client and market insights into IBM. You’re responsible for knowing and understanding IBM clients, partners, sellers, offerings, and overall market trends – what’s important to whom and why and how IBM can uniquely bring value to the client.
As GCG Field Marketing Leader, you’ll lead the team to build GCG engagement plans to drive business pipeline and revenue objectives based on a deep understanding of clients and the local market:
· Align Business Unit (BU) objectives to the effective design and execution of marketing and communications plans to support go-to-market strategies. Work closely across APAC and local key stakeholders across marketing and sales to create compelling and differentiated client and partner engagement experiences to deliver against stated marketing and business objectives, including but not limited to pipeline and win revenue
· Lead team to leverage knowledge of multiple tactics and marketing and communications activities in your plans, including, live or virtual events, brand recognition, social media marketing, digital and email lead generation activities, and channel/partner marketing, measure, analyze, and report on the impact of marketing and communications activities
· Drive teams to brief, enable and collaborate with Sales, Clients, IBM Partners and/or internal stakeholders to become IBM external advocates across various paid, owned, earned channels
· Lead team to collaborate with the Experience Engine team to drive integrated digital campaigns execution aligned to business priorities, across paid, organic, email, and other channels as he/she sees fit, based on local market consumption patterns, especially in China where local hyperscalers are extremely advanced
· Lead team to collaborate with ecosystem marketing team to drive effective co-marketing programs plan and execution align to business priorities.
· As needed, develop and create new growth strategies to support GCG business, grounded in data and intelligence from the field
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· More than 10 years of Field Marketing & Communications experience in APAC / Market, lead to create and implement successful M&C plans aligned to business goals and objectives, while being able to quickly pivot based on business needs, leveraging a range of tactics and technologies within budget, and on time
· Understanding of technology and services offerings, sales cycles, and solution positioning
· Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross functional and multicultural teams, leading clear briefs/communication to key stakeholders, driving decisions through influence, including business leaders and sellers
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
· Strong comprehension of sales and marketing business and financial metrics
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
· Strong problem solving, negotiation and analytical skills, and attention to details
· Readiness to travel 10-20% across GCG regions to support speaking engagements and client/partner meetings
