Job description
· Takes reservations when central reservations is not operational and operates systems in accordance with hotel standards of performance.
· Ensures a sales attitude is adopted at all times and maintains an awareness of sales opportunities within the hotel.
· Develops and maintains a high level of communication with all major sources of business and advises the Front Office Manager and Reservation Manager to feedback where necessary.
· Ensures all waitlisted business is recorded appropriately.
· Ensures the Reservation Manager is kept informed of all developments within the department.
· Adheres to pre-set availability and rate controls.
· Ensures a high level of product knowledge of the hotel and local area.
· Ensures a high level of Reservations is consistently maintained.
· Processes all reservation requests by phone, mail or fax, and RESERVE system, promptly and accurately to established standards.
· Checks daily arrivals and informs concerned personnel of any missing information.
· Prepares and distributes weekly forecasts.
· Fully knowledgeable about hotel guest rooms, rates, promotions, amenities, programs, hotel facilities and services.
· Assists and prepare in groups pre-arrival process and also preparing group rooming lists.
· Track all reservations picked up from all On-line channels like hotel website, OTA, GDS, other third party etc.
· Update No-shows and cancellations on all OTA's without fail to avoid and unwanted commissions.
· Responsible for maintaining Rate parity across all booking Channels (Website, OTA, GDS, Travel Agents Etc.)
· Inbound and outbound call management and leadership.
