The Standard, Mexico City arrives in the historic Tabacalera neighborhood with character, color, and a signature wink. With 206 guestrooms, 27 branded residences, vibrant dining destinations, and a rooftop overlooking the Monumento a la Revolución, we're bringing our unmistakable energy to Latin America.
We're looking for a Head Sommelier to lead and elevate our wine program across our restaurants and bars. We're searching for someone with exceptional knowledge, refined taste, and a genuine passion for creating unforgettable wine experiences that complement every moment of the guest journey.
The Opportunity

As our Head Sommelier , you'll curate a distinctive wine program, guide guests through memorable discoveries, and collaborate closely with our culinary and beverage teams to create experiences that are thoughtful, engaging, and uniquely The Standard.
What You'll Do
· Lead the development and execution of The Standard's wine program across all dining outlets.
· Curate and maintain an innovative wine list that reflects quality, diversity, and The Standard's distinctive personality.
· Provide exceptional wine service while creating memorable and personalized guest experiences.
· Partner with the culinary team to develop thoughtful wine pairings and seasonal offerings.
· Train, mentor, and inspire front-of-house teams, fostering confidence and knowledge in wine service.
· Manage wine inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and cost controls.
· Ensure proper storage, cellar management, and wine service standards are maintained at all times.
· Stay current on global wine trends, emerging regions, and new producers to continuously evolve the program.

What You'll Bring
· Proven experience as a Head Sommelier or Lead Sommelier in a luxury lifestyle hotel or fine dining establishment.
· Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, food pairings, and service techniques.
· Professional wine certification is highly preferred.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire service teams.
· Experience managing wine inventories, purchasing, supplier relationships, and beverage costs.
· Outstanding communication and guest engagement skills.
· Fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to confidently engage with an international clientele.
· A passion for hospitality, storytelling, and creating memorable guest experiences through wine.
· Curiosity, refined taste, and a commitment to continuously expanding your knowledge.
