HSBC 2025 Singapore Student Work Placement

The Singapore Student Work Placement, which lasts for 12 weeks, will challenge you to use your existing skills and academic knowledge to add value to the bank and improve your professional and personal skills.

We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career.

Over the course of twelve weeks, you will:

·       Gain practical experience that will complement your academic studies

·       Earn credit equivalencies that count towards your degree (subject to university requirements)

·       Be given real responsibilities across a selection of interesting projects

·       Use your talents and academic knowledge to add real value to our work

·       Be valued as the individual you are, and for the unique contribution you bring

For those in Year 1 and 2, this is a great opportunity to learn about HSBC before embarking on a penultimate year internship ahead of graduation. For those in Year 3 and 4 and have not applied or have not been successful for our Global Summer Internship Programmes, this is a great opportunity to gain work experience and consider entry level roles at HSBC upon graduation.

Requirements

To join us on this programme, you will need to be:

·  Legal right to work in Singapore
·  An undergraduate student from any discipline
·  Available to work full-time for 12 weeks from May 2025
·  A natural communicator, fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written skills
·  An enthusiastic learner, with a positive, can-do attitude
·  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

o   Wealth and Personal Banking  

o   Wealth Management

We help customers to take care of their day-to-day finances and to manage, protect and grow their wealth. Our international network and breadth of expertise enable us to support individuals, families, business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs around the world.

o   Global Asset Management

We are responsible for the investment of funds and the design of investment products across the HSBC Group, serving the bank’s customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates, and institutions. We manage investments in segregated accounts and pooled funds.

o   HSBC Life Insurance

It is all about people and the promises we make. Our team of experts help deliver on these promises by providing a wide range of insurance products and services that meet the needs of our customers and by delivering the best customer experiences across Asia-Pacific.

o   Global Private Banking

Our private banking business serves high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. It provides banking, investment, and wealth management solutions to support our clients to achieve their ambitions. We can also advise on topics including wealth planning, alternative investments, and family governance – while our experts in philanthropy support clients in their ambition to have a positive impact on society.

o   Global Banking & Markets

Our Global Banking & Markets business focuses on building partnerships with our corporate, government and institutional clients to help them achieve consistent, long-term performance. We use the strength of HSBC’s international network to connect emerging and mature markets, covering key growth areas. Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales, and transaction banking.

o   Commercial Banking

We provide businesses with banking services in both home markets and overseas. These include trade and receivables finance, global payments solutions, multi-currency accounts, commercial cards, overdrafts, working capital finance, term loans and syndicated, leveraged, acquisition and project finance.

o   Global Functions
Global Functions plays a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses which includes areas from legal, risk and finance to human resources, sustainability, marketing and communications.

o   Digital Business Services

Our Digital Business Services teams are the foundation of HSBC, providing essential support across technology, operations and key central business services for our global businesses and functions. We play a vital role in driving great experiences for customers and colleagues and enabling the bank’s strategy.
