Principal responsibilities
Senior Software Engineering Manager will coordinate the Front to Back element of testing where change to the data sourcing impacts downstream consumers such as Front Office & Traded Risk either relating to Regulatory Implementations, Cross Asset Releases or potentially Regulatory Impacting Change Requests.This role holder will carry out some or all of the following tasks:
· Effectively manage stakeholder expectation related to Agile Focused Functional & Business testing and build a strong relationship with Development, BA’s and core testing teams across different functions, including the programme team. Ensure all functions adhere to the Agile at Scale methodology.
· Provide clear communication on testing schedule, test dates, scope changes, Functional & Business testing status, etc. to the stakeholders
· Drive both Functional & Business testing activity, plan for and ensure all pre-requisites are met prior to test (including Resourcing and Environments), support business users in Business testing (UAT) planning, uploading test cases in JIRA, covering all aspect of requirements.
· Management of Defect Triage and facilitation of quick resolution of defects
· Collaborate with global component testing team/test managers in formulating test plans, test strategy, test approach, test data and test environments. Additionally, define an approach that caters for the different methodologies, tools and processes used by various teams involved in the E2E testing.
· Drive all Functional & Business testing calls and publish status reports
· Coordinate and actively support the QA Test teams to enable the Programme to meet the Quality Gate Acceptance Criteria.
· Accountable for Test related Audit points at a programme level for both requirement definition as well as testing.
· This requirement gathering involves gaining a detailed understanding of the project, establishing a network of connections across the other projects and interdependent teams, as well as with key senior stakeholders.
· Proving written and verbal testing updates to senior management and stakeholders such as at BODCs.
· Conduct Retros of the End-to-End (E2E) Test Strategy to ensure continuous improvements, enabling earlier defect detection, streamlined testing timelines, and cost reductions.
This requirement involves gaining a detailed understanding of the project, establishing a network of connections within the project, across the other projects and interdependent teams, as well as with key senior stakeholders.
To be able to provide this level of service the successful candidate will be well organised, disciplined, be able to work with minimal supervision, have exceptional attention to detail, and able to follow tasks through to completion.
Although it is expected that the successful candidate will come from an investment banking background and be familiar with the investment banking environment, have a basic understanding of capital markets products, and an appreciation of front, middle and back office functions, it is much more critical they are experienced in large scale test management.
Requirements
· Experience gained working in a structured project environment in a Test Management equivalent role gained within an investment banking environment involving multiple projects within an overarching programme.
· Expertise in Testing Methodology and able to bring best practice recommendations for structure and tracking to the project team. This would include a thorough understanding of the SDLC and different project methodologies, such as Waterfall and Agile.
· Solid understanding of Defect Management and all key modules within the JIRA & Quality Center Testing toolset
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to distil key facts from complex issues and present them appropriately to the audience, business or technical, junior or senior.
· Ability to work autonomously under pressure to tight deadlines, prioritising work in a multi-client environment where demand exceeds supply and resolving the conflicts that result.
· Highly disciplined approach to documentation standards, including version control management.
· Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
· Highly developed reasoning and analytical skills.
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven fast learner.
· Process oriented and structured approach.
· Accountability – Takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution.
