This role will oversee the organisations risk management framework, focusing on Risk and Controls, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting and Non-Financial risk management. This role will report to the Head of Business Risk, Compliance and Assurance within Wealth and Personal Banking. You will act as a leader withing WPB business, projecting a professional and competent image, in line with HSBC’s values and behaviours.

Your main responsibilities will include:
•    Monitoring and reporting on risk exposure across the business ensuring accurate and timely submissions of regulatory reporting where required
•    Oversight of new Regulatory policies and procedures as a subject matter SME to identify and support management of associated risks
•    Identify, assess and manage non-financial risks, including operational, reputational and compliance risks.
•    Promote and reinforce all WPB non-financial risk role-holders to ensure sound processes are in place to minimize Non-Financial risk in WPB business and form adequate control in the “First Line of Defence”
•    Evaluate and enhance existing processes and controls.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
•    Bachelor’s degree in a Finance and/or business-related field with relevant experience in non-financial risk.
•    Proven effective leadership experience in managing offshore teams
•    High level of analytical, attention to detail and reasoning skills.
•    Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
•    Strong organisational and time management skills in order to meet competing deadlines. 
•    Excellent written and presentation skills.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
