Role Title: Senior Business Analyst

Role Purpose
· To participate in system development and Global Distribution Support and Transfer Agency Services (GDTA) change projects in HSS.
· To prepare business requirement documentations conforming to bank and RBPM / BTF standards.
· To assist in the preparation and execution of test plans, user guides, documentation and training.
· Responsible for the provision of GDTA system changes between the GDTA departments in HSS globally including Europe & America regions and the technical support staff and system Vendor.
Key Accountabilities
Impact on Business
· Work independently and with the Operations teams to ensure that department development items are proactively identified, researched, tested and delivered in a cost effective way.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships between operational, technical and Vendor contacts.
· Assist in the management of the CM&D team to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the agreed specification.
· Assist in the management of the team projects to ensure that they are implemented in line with Group standards and IS operational and organisational goals, from concept, through the Project Prioritisation process and on to delivery using a structured project management methodology.
· Management and provision of regular reporting to GDTA and CM&D Senior management and other stakeholders, as necessary to support a proactive communications environment.
· Assist in the effective management of team through objective setting, ongoing assessment, development, training, motivation and appraisal.
· Work with other HSS Global Product teams and Services Delivery teams on larger project items and ensure effective communication with GDTA and interface with this department.
· Represent GDTA in user group meetings acting as centralised point of contact.
· Ensure continuous platform development through proactive technology implementation and automation initiatives.
· Participate in management, client and prospective client meetings, workshops, reviews and presentations, as required.
· Monitor potential risks to HSS arising from project implementations, including risk to HSS by the revised operation and/or client and risk to the client and/or revised operation by HSS.
· Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
· Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
· Alignment and consistency of approach to product change and system support between HSS locations.
· Pro-actively resolve system support issues acting on an intermediary basis between HSS GDTA department globally and technical support staff.
· Represent HSS Europe & America GDTA department in system upgrades and system development cycles.

Observation of Internal Controls
· The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
· The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the traditional and alternative investment industry and surrounding processes;
· 6-10 years experiences working in a financial services operation and/or project management role, of which 2 years should be at Supervisory level;
· Educated to degree level, ideally with a focus on business and/or project management;
· Prior experience in a fund industry project management, systems development or product development role, a distinct advantage
· Proven track record in the delivery of projects on time, within budget and to specification at project and programme management levels;
· Commercial awareness and awareness of key issues/risks in implementing projects within a fund industry operation;
· Excellent analytical skills; pragmatic approach to problem solving & highly developed people management skills;
· Proven leadership, communication, presentation and relationship management skills;
· Computer literate and knowledge of HSS GDTA systems a distinct advantage (GTAP, MFGI, AWD, etc.).
