The Relationship Director role is based within HSBC Middle Market Enterprises (MME) consists of Mid-Market companies, and represents some of Commercial Banking‘s (CMB’s) largest and more complex customers. Providing standard commercial banking products (working capital finance, short-term loans, deposits, payments etc.) and in conjunction with product specialists (e.g. Payments and Cash Management, Global Banking and Markets, Insurance, Trade & Receivables Finance), MME provides both domestic and cross-border banking solutions including cash management, trade services, insurance, investment banking and advisory services..
The role of the Relationship Director will consist of both domestic and international relationships and the role will involve managing all aspects of the relationship including the inherent credit and operational risks. The jobholder will be responsible for establishing a strong, visible profile within the business area and focusing on the delivery of the Bank’s capabilities within MME.
Your responsibilities will include:
Act as Relationship Manager by offering value-added advice and guidance to customers and placing their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards.
Grow sustainable revenues from existing relationships and through targeted acquisition of quality new customers
Structure credit facilities to ensure optimum balance between customer and HSBC interests within the bounds of prudent banking
Proactively develop effective strategies to manage relationships, both existing and new, by anticipating customer needs and providing superior quality services resulting in increased wallet share.
Put customers first in all that we do and develop/increase connectivity
Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation and regulatory risk
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
Experience of building effective customer relationships which create customer advocacy
Successfully engaged customers to understand their needs and identify sales/service opportunities
The base location for this role is London, 8 Canada Square, Canary Wharf
