Our private banking business uses Avaloq, a leading end-to-end wealth management and banking platform supporting client management, investments, trading, lending, payments, risk, compliance, and back-office operations.
We’re looking for a seasoned Technology Leader with a strong development background to lead engineering teams and deliver end-to-end outcomes across their domain. The Engineering Lead will provide leadership to global engineering teams, build the required capability and report directly to the Head of Engineering, Banking Platform.
What you’ll do
• Lead Avaloq deliveries for stream and oversee end to end Avaloq development life cycle including Design, development, testing and deployment.
• Ensure code quality, documentation and compliance with development standards, best practices and quality guidelines.
• Work with stakeholders and other technology functions to ensure that end-to-end delivery of Projects, Minor Enhancements, RTB backlog are addressed using Agile and DevOps methodology.
• Support in Recruitment, Talent Management, Retention, Risk Control, Governance and local administration.
• Partner with Head of Engineering Banking Platform to ensure that there a robust location strategy for Avaloq workforce & build the capability according to the strategy.
• Be responsible for identifying risks and threats and deficiencies with deployed key controls. Ensures that risk, control and governance are adhered to by the team, mandatory trainings are conducted and attended by team members.
• Help drive the automation strategy with Test manager.
• Ensure that the team matures in Agile practices and collects necessary metrics to demonstrate the high level of release frequency, high quality standards and low production incidents trends.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Deep expertise across Avaloq, Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and team leadership to drive outcomes at pace.
• Strong understanding of the Private Banking domain and the functions you’ll support (e.g., finance, trade, client reporting, cash management, risk).
• A hands-on engineering mindset: able to get into the detail of the Avaloq platform (implementation, interfaces, EOD, deployment automation) and contribute to high-level architecture and system design to ensure satellite interfaces are built optimally.
• Solid capability in scripting languages such as PL/SQL. Working knowledge of Unix and Control-M.
• A system engineering background with the ability to assess options and recommend the best solution against business requirements.
• Demonstrated delivery experience: shipping sustainable change that measurably improves business effectiveness, aligned to an approved book of work.
• Clear, confident communication (written and verbal) in English, with a track record of influencing across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build strong internal and external networks, enabling collaboration and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Proven ability to guide stakeholders through complex technical decisions, even with ambiguity—considering long-term risk and escalating to senior architects when appropriate.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 27 000 PLN – 31 000 PLN (monthly, gross).
Additional car allowance in the amount of 4786 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
